SABBATH, DAY OF REST

But the Lord answered, "To say you are too busy to rest on the Sabbath is like saying you are too poot to tithe. It means you have not learned My ability to provide. If I tell you to rest, you CAN rest."
Wayne Muller described Sabbath activity as "Time consecrated to enjoy and celebrate what it beautiful and good- time to light candles, sing songs, worship, tell stories, bless our children and loved ones, give thanks, share meals, nap, walk, and even make love. It is a time to be nourished and refreshed as we let our work, our chors and our important projects lie fallow, trusting that there are larger forces at work taking care of the world when we are at rest."

You wisper a prayer in the child's ear while gently holding his head.

May the Lord make you like Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Lean; like Ephraim and Menasseh.
May the Lord bless you and watch over you.
May the Lord cause the Divine face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up the Divine face toward you and bring you peace. Amen.
